Art with a Purpose, Here I Am & Getting Where We Are Going

The Experimental Art Lab has been busy making protest signs for the persuasion of justice in the new political climate we are navigating. It is moving to feel that we can do something and all the discussions that have come from that. Children of all ages have come together to help. We are using the signs to name and give voice to how we feel. Using markers, patterns, fabric, collage, direct painting and simple printmaking techniques, we have made powerful, clear, bright messages.

Snowy Day

We are in the dark folds of winter and its a perfect time for hygge. Which means to get cozy with candles and blankets and leave the cold outside. Warm up with art books and draw in your journal, make some collages, paint some wintry scenes, practice anime figures, make paper mache masks, learn some new knitting stitches, you name it.

Here at the Freedman Kids art lab we will be making love rocks for Valentines at the senior hospital. Pictures coming soon. What will you make?
